THE BRIEF & CHALLENGES

Liverpool City Council appointed Terra Civil as their principal contractor, responsible for the end-to-end delivery of a brandnew multi-function passive parkland space.

Playing a key part in Liverpool City Councils long term vision for the city, the Parklands needed to deliver on a number of fronts including:

• Re-establishing the city’s connection with the river

• Meeting the recreational needs of a diverse and rapidlygrowing community

• Providing an environmentally sustainable space

THE PROJECT

Terra Civils detailed project plan included provisions for site security during the Christmas and New Year breaks, the use of recycled materials, complex playground design, and the coordination of multiple contractors on-site simultaneously. Terra Civils project management expertise and strong attention to detail ensured the projects were on time completion despite numerous design change requests over the course of the 4-month project. The newly developed passive parklands have become a major recreational hub with picnic grounds and shelters, walking and cycling paths, exercise fitness stations, sensory gardens, adventure playgrounds, and ample parking.
